Job Description: VMware Modernization Senior Infrastructure Engineer
We are seeking a highly specialized Senior Infrastructure Engineer to deliver a high-priority, 10-week VMware Modernization engagement for a financial institution.
The project focuses on migrating a legacy Site Recovery Manager (SRM) environment to VMware Live Recovery, integrating an AWS-backed cyber vault, and implementing sophisticated network-security segmentations.

* Client / Environment: Financial Services
* Duration: 10-week calendar engagement
* Timeline: Target resource confirmation by December 1, with active customer delivery kicking off after
January 1.
* Location & Security: US-Based / US Citizenship Required. Must pass a 10-year background check and a 7/10-panel drug screen. No offshore resources will be considered due to financial sector compliance.

Core Responsibilities
* Disaster Recovery Migration: Assess and modernize Alliant’s existing legacy VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM) environment, successfully transitioning it to VMware Live Recovery.
* Cyber Resiliency & Cloud Vaulting: Design and implement a secure, AWS-backed cyber-resiliency vault to protect critical financial infrastructure against ransomware and cyber threats.
* Network Security Integration: Deploy and configure VMware vDefend / vShield to enforce strict east-west firewalling and secure all replication traffic traveling between the on-premises data centers and the AWS target destination.
* Solution Architecture & Delivery: Ensure seamless technical execution within a tight 10-week window. Maintain clear documentation and alignment with all stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications
* VMware Stack: Expert-level, hands-on experience with VMware Live Recovery and legacy Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
* VMware Security: Strong implementation experience with VMware vDefend or vShield, specifically managing micro-segmentation and east-west firewall configurations.
* Cloud Architecture: Proven experience establishing secure AWS integrations, data replication endpoints, and cloud storage compliance.
* Cyber Security: Deep understanding of cyber-vault architectures, air-gapping concepts, and data protection frameworks within financial institutions.
Compliance & Logistical Requirements
* Broadcom Ecosystem: Candidate cannot be actively assigned to another Broadcom partner due to exclusivity restriction
* Communication: Exceptional English communication skills, with a track record of driving technical clarity in high-stakes enterprise environments.
